Nova Scotia and PEI

Its been a while since I was on the Maritime trip, never had a chance to put up an update. Maybe it's a good thing, I'll now only put down stuff that was either good, bad or memorable ;)

So it was Halifax first, I hadn't even arrived for a few hours and we decided not to waste any time and go check out Peggy's Cove lighthouse. Which was just absolutely beautiful, and at the perfect time we were able to catch the sunset over the Atlantic ocean. It still remains as the most amazing place I went (till then, of course)

And if I remember right, it was just the next day we left for Prince Edward Island (PEI). It was me, mark, John and Sean. We took a ferry there, and let's just say the ferry was a lot bigger than I thought. It was carrying cars, trucks and all that. So it was pretty stable on the waters, and it was free (how can you compain). The hotel/motel was pretty cheap (I'm glad) and we got food from the grocery instead too.

 So in PEI we went around charlottetown, the downtown was great (different) and great to explore. The best place was definitely the sand dunes next to the atlantic ocean beach. But started raining pretty hard and so had to hide my camera. The other thing, was the super-amazing Anne of green gables farmhouse thingy *sarcasm*; none of us even knew about her, but she's supposed to be a big deal (even more so in Japan). Walking in, it felt we just landed in Japan, pretty much old Japanese people everywhere.

We tried to explore, at least, charlottetown as much as we could and then we were off to Halifax again. Got to see the confederation bridge, heather showed us the bridge and underneath. Oh Heather is our good and hospitable(is that a word?) isalnder, i'm glad she could show us around. Ah almost forgot, I also got to see my first fiddler and had my first lobster, which was alright.

Anyways back to the bridge, the longest over-the sea bridge. Supposedly it was built from either side of the coast and when the construction met in the middle it was only off by a few millimeters, hm.

First blog - Peggy's cove

Hi Everyone. So my very first post, on my very first blog. I hope I can put m experiences, and I intend to put them the way I'm thinking without filtering any of it, so forgive me.


Where do I start, its all not real until you see that boarding pass in your hand. Planning for months and now you know you're leaving Saskatoon (at least to Halifax first). So many delays with that invitation letter from Ukraine, even began doubting if I'll get the visa (I still do). But I just got it yesterday and applied it right away, hoping for the best. 


Well its worth mentioning I got security scanned in one of those new scanners, yes yes I did. They could have at least asked me to check my pockets and walk through again. But clearly they wanted to see me naked first lol. Anyways its all good from there, I promise.


Let me tell you this, saying Nova Scotia is amazing is an understatement. It literally looks like scotland from the movies (Braveheart lol). First day (with just 2hours sleep prior night), we decided we should go to Peggy's Cove, a lighthouse off the coast of Nova Scotia. Super old building (Canadian standard of old, btw) next to the amazing ocean. It was cool thing to see with the sun setting in the background.
